    General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) has an immediate opening for an Entry-level ASIC/FPGA (Application Specific Integrated Circuit/Field Programmable Gate Array) Engineer to join our ASIC/FPGA Center of Excellence in our Scottsdale, AZ location. The position provides an opportunity to work directly with some of our nation's fundamental defense services. GDMS employees work closely with esteemed clients to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions. You will work with collaborative teams to secure clients information systems and their contents.     Key Responsibilities
    The Entry-level ASIC/FPGA Engineer will support ASIC complementary metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS) technologies 45nm or smaller and support digital signal processor (DSP) and/or custom digital interface design or verification tasks for  integrated circuit (IC) devices to be utilized in hi-reliability space-based communications systems.

    Responsibilities for this Position

    The Entry-level ASIC/FPGA Engineer requires:

    • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, CSE, or a related specialty is required.
    • Zero to two years of related experience.
    • Ability to obtain a Department of Defense TS/SCI security clearance within 24 months of hire is required. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
    • Must demonstrate a passion for innovation, a sophisticated understanding of emerging technologies, and the ability to effectively manage and protect information systems in a cost-effect manner.

    Qualifications (Preferred)

    Experience with most, if not all, of the following languages and processes are highly desired:

    • Verilog
    • SystemVerilog
    • C
    • Perl
    • Behavioral and register transfer level (RTL) Simulation
    • FPGA design
    • Synthesis
    • Direct Programming Interface (DPI)


    Experience with most, if not all, of the following electronic design automation (EDA) design tools from Synopsys and Mentor Graphics highly desired such as:

    • Mentor QuestaSim
    • Mentor Precision (FPGA)
    • Mentor 0-in
    • Xilinx ISE / Vivado
    • Synopsys Design Compiler / ICC (ASIC)
    • Synopsys Primetime
    • Rational Clearcase Data Management
