    Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire.     Responsibilities for this Position

    • General Dynamics Mission Systems has an exciting position in our sunny Orlando, Florida location. We are seeking a chief engineer experienced in Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) modeling & simulation domain who will technically contribute to the Consolidated Product line Management (CPM) and Intelligence Electronic Warfare Tactical Proficiency Trainer (IEWTPT) contracts. You will be a part of the development of next generation military C2 and Synthetic Training Environment (STE) training environments using Modeling and Simulation. In this role as the Chief engineer, you will:


      • Be the Chief Engineer for The Consolidated Product Line Management (CPM-Next and IEWTPT) contracts. Help and conduct domain analysis of the LVC Technical Architectures, as related to the Cloud base Training as Service (TaaS) architecture
      • Help define Live/Virtual/Constructive (LVC) Interoperability requirements, designs and implementations, as required to support the LVC Product Line operating in the cloud
      • Provide senior engineering leadership to mentor the engineering teams on best practices for successful execution.
      • Apply advanced principles of engineering and management to solve problems involving the development of complex technology
      • Oversee and manage design and development processes as they relate to the engineering of products utilizing principles and technology of physics, mathematics, engineering, and related physical sciences
      • Utilize computer technology to optimize all phases of work to include requirements management, modeling and simulation, risk analysis and formal trade study tools
      • Conduct research to identify leading edge and breakaway technologies
      • Research and reports important shifts in technological landscape & implications to the company
      • Actively expose high-level risks & communicate the risk trade space & mitigation strategies to team
      • Collaborate with management across the company on research and development relevant to long-term objectives Instrumental in establishing technology & process direction for the technical community
      • Direct development of technical strategies and teaming strategies across business units
      • Lead large proposals with identification of cross business unit strengths and technical shortcoming
      • Provide proposal-teaming recommendation to shore up any shortcomings for optimum win probabilities
      • Align IEWTPT program with CPM Next Product Line Engineering (PLE) strategy
      • Help realize Knowledge Delivery concept for Product Line Engineering
      • Lead the selection of key technologies and proven methodologies to standardize and automate our PLE factory



    Qualifications (Preferred)

    • Significant experience in the live, virtual, constructive training system and training delivery domains, viewed as a subject matter expert by the community and the customer
    • Experience in leading significant size (25-50 engineers) engineering development efforts
    • Experience leading multiple concurrent efforts with dynamic deadlines / requirements
    • Experience with leading Portfolio SAFe Agile Teams
    • Experience with leading development of web/cloud based solutions
    • Experience with implementing DevOps (continuous development, continuous integration, and continuous deployment)
