  • Basic Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer, Systems engineering, a related specialized area or field is required (or equivalent experience) plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience. Agile experience preferred.

     

    Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

     

    Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

    Responsibilities for this Position

    General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Senior Hardware Test Engineer.  This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation’s core defense/intelligence services and systems.  General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.

     

    REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS:

    • Design, develop, and implement automated systems to test product in a manufacturing environment, including functional test and Environmental Stress Screening (ESS)
    • Perform requirements analysis, requirements definition, requirements management, functional analysis, performance analysis, hardware and software design, systems integration and test (verification)
    • Perform technical and task planning, and cost and risk analyses for automated test systems to support proposals and funded projects
    • Generate designs and documentation by using the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the system development life cycle
    • Support product verification activities through automated testing
    • Independently and collaboratively resolve technical challenges and identify opportunities for improvement
    • Work with cross functional teams to contribute to the completion of major programs and projects
    • May provide leadership or direction to lower level employees
    • Travel may be required
    • Keep abreast of technology trends


    KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    • Experience in C/C++ programming
    • Experience in testing high speed data protocols (Ethernet (copper and fiber), Fibre Channel, etc.)
    • Experience in developing and integrating hardware and software
    • Proficient with requirements management tools (DOORS)
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
    • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
    • Ability to learn new concepts and quickly apply to solve complex problems

     

    PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

    • LabWindows CVI experience desirable
