  • Basic Qualifications

    High School diploma or the equivalent is required. Associates degree in Electronics, Computer Science, Mechanical engineering is preferred. In addition, a minimum of 2 year of directly related experience is required.
    J-STD_001, 002, IPC 610, MIL-STD-883, MIL-STD-750 and X-Ray qualification certifications may be required.


     Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

    Responsibilities for this Position

    General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for an Inspector.  This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation’s core defense/intelligence services and systems.  General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.


    Inspects parts and materials to determine compliance to specified requirements
    Performs product inspection
    Performs real time defect evaluation
    Prepares QA documentation
    Verifies corrective action implementation
    Performs housekeeping audits
    Verifies implementation of rework
    Generates and/or verifies traceability information
    Interfaces with coworkers and internal customers



    •  Inspection of circuit cards, sub- assemblies, and systems to prevent build defects from escaping
    • Documenting defects which are found during inspection in a MRP system
    • Closing defect records and Inspection Operations in a MRP system
    • Communicating systemic build issues found during inspection
    • Performing inspections as prioritized by Planning

    General knowledge of basic electrical or mechanical technology
    General knowledge of ESD control
    General knowledge of workmanship standards
    General knowledge of drawing interpretation
    Skilled in using PC applications (Microsoft Word, Excel)
    Skilled in use of basic mechanical measurement tools
    Interpersonal skills




    Additionally, candidates must work with a high level of process discipline, communicate effectively, work well in in a team environment, and possess good PC skills.

    • IPC J-Standard Certification
    • Experience working with a microscope
    • Experience working with on-line work instruction
    • Ability to input data into an MRP system
