Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, a related specialized area or field is required (or equivalent experience) plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.



Applicants selected may be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.


Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.


Responsibilities for this Position

General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Signal and Power Integrity Electrical Engineer.  This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation’s core defense/intelligence services and systems.  General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.

SI/PI Electrical Engineers research, design, develop and test military electronic equipment and systems at GDMS including:

  • avionics mission computers
  • stores management systems
  • radar processing systems
  • analog and digital circuitry components

Candidates must demonstrate a passion for innovation, a sophisticated understanding of electronic equipment and systems, and the ability to further advance General Dynamics Mission Systems technology.  A thorough understanding and application of SI/PI principles is critical to the success of highly sophisticated electronic systems with ever increasing signal speeds and performance requirements.

Candidates must have:

  • Strong background in applied electro-magnetics, transmission lines and circuit theory
  • Familiarity with s-parameters, eye diagrams, jitter analysis, and signal integrity performance metrics in both time and frequency domains
  • Passion for making a career of signal and power integrity work with a goal of becoming a subject matter expert 



Experience/Knowledge in one or more of the following areas:

  • Signal and Power Integrity simulation tools such as HFSS, HyperLynx, SIwave or similar
  • High speed measurement instruments such as VNAs, oscilloscopes, BERTs and TDR/TDTs
  • High frequency board and package level interconnect modeling and parasitic extraction
  • PCB module and backplane design and layout with a focus on signal and power integrity
  • High speed serial and parallel interfaces such as 10GBASE-KR, PCIe, DDR3/4, USB, SERDES, etc.
  • PCB design for manufacturability (DFM) and High Density Interconnect (HDI) 


  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering or a specialized area, field or the equivalent
