Responsibilities for this Position

General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Human Resources Systems & Analytics Specialist.  The position provides an opportunity to enhance the performance and profitability of an organization that supports some of our nation’s fundamental defense services.  General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.


Representative Duties and Tasks:

  • Determine, measure, track, maintain, depict and display KPIs and other findings for an Executive audience and users at all levels of the business
  • Analyze Employee Engagement Survey, New Hire and Exit Survey, workforce demographics, and other relevant data to uncover findings and make suggested responses
  • Conduct benchmarking, maintain key benchmark data, and compare to business results
  • Conduct ad hoc and on request analyses of HR and business “what if” and predictive studies
  • Suggest ways to improve existing approaches in HR and business analytics, including tools
  • May support the HRIS team in the development, implementation and maintenance of human resource information systems (HRIS) associated with the collection, retrieval, accessibility and usage of employee information for Human Resource department planning and activities
  • Maintain internal database files and tables and develops custom reports to meet the requirements of HR and Business management and staff
  • May support HR and Business personnel to evaluate HRIS software and hardware needs and may design new or modify existing HRIS to meet changing demands
  • May serve as HR department liaison to relevant MIS/IT Projects and make meaningful recommendations
  • Exercises creative thinking and ideation to advance our business performance

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Developing professional expertise, applies company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Access, and Project)
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with modeling & simulation, data analytics, and visualization applications
  • Considerable ability to work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors
  • Exercises considerable judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action
  • Considerable ability to build productive internal/external working relationships
  • Creative, innovative responsibilities requiring advanced decision-making skills
  • Normally receives general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new projects or assignments
  • May provide work direction to other employees; lacks authority to discipline or reward
