Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in software engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent experience is required. 


 Candidates must be able to obtain a Department of Defense TS/SCI clearance within a reasonable amount of time from date of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities for this Position

General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) has an immediate opening for an Entry-Level JAVA Developer to join our team in Bloomington, MN. The position provides an opportunity to develop the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nations fundamental defense services. GDMS employees work closely with esteemed clients to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions. The selected candidate will work with collaborative teams to build and further advance GDMS software systems and applications. Key Responsibilities
Entry-Level JAVA Developers conduct or participate in the research, design and development of systems software, software applications and/or tools for new programs and subprograms. Responsibilities also include enhancements, modifications and corrections to existing software. In addition, you will be able to perform coding, testing, integrating and documenting software solutions.


In this role you will have the opportunity to develop JAVA applications for the Multi-INT Analysis and Archiving System (MAAS) system.  MAAS is a Full Motion Video exploitation tool used to provide end users a host of tools to process, store and analyze video content.  Typical skills you will use and grow include:

  • Java / J2EE application development
  • Web development using J2EE with Spring Framework
  • XML, Maven, Unix/Linux, Jenkins
  • Multi-tier application development using SOA
  • Database skills (MS SQL, Hibernate, Stored Procedures)
  • Strong Core Java, Junit development skills
  • Good communication (should be able to present concepts)
  • Well versed with Java Coding Standards and Guide lines
